Como narradoras visuales con Koral Carballo siempre buscamos las herramientas las más poderosas para contar nuestra historia. Cada proyecto es una nueva exploración, con preguntas acerca de como contar la historia que elegimos ( ¿o que nos eligió?) para servirla y para transmitirla.
En el caso de nuestra historia en El Salvador, acerca del pueblo de Intipucá donde más de la mitad de sus habitantes migraron hacia Estados Unidos desde 1967, queríamos contar estas identidades híbridas, este territorio transnacional, estas familias repartidas entre un acá y allá. También nos preocupamos por incluir a los mismos protagonistas en la construcción del relato.
Es de ahí que salió la idea de invitar a las personas que íbamos a encontrar de dibujar sus arboles genealógicos, usando dos colores. El rojo para representar Estados Unidos y el azul para representar Intipucá.

Between images and drawings
As visual narrators with Koral Carballo we always look for the most powerful tools to tell our story. Each project is a new exploration, with questions about how to tell the story we chose (or chose us?) To serve it and to transmit it.
In the case of our history in El Salvador, about the town of Intipucá where more than half of its inhabitants migrated to the United States since 1967, we wanted to tell these hybrid identities, this transnational territory, these families spread between here and there. We also worry about including the same protagonists in the construction of the story.
That’s why the idea came out to invite the people we were going to interview to draw their family trees, using two colors. Red to represent the United States and blue to represent Intipucá.
